19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A comeback Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.

Presently working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden title after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from March of the previous year.

The win also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one different competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his past six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving play style and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five points to go ahead.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to force a third set.

The opponent defended 4 early break points in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, he clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
